I think this is a great idea! People often forget to include where they're located and if they're willing to ship items or if it's local only. Maybe then you could also sort by location to see what's available around you.
I agree - this would be very helpful. This is the reason I don't use the classifieds much. :)
I think that it would be very helpful to sort the classifieds by state. It would be helpful if we could post and search for items in the state in which we live. This would allow sellers to sell their items quicker because they wouldn't have to take the time to bring the items to the post office to determine the shipping rate to a certain location. Also, as a buyer, I know that I would drive three hours if the item/price is right rather than wait and possibly lose interest in the item that is out of state. Thanks!
I agree; the classifieds are (IMHO) the least user friendly section of the site right now. Adding a local component would be a great start to improving them!
Also, considering I'm trying to sell my centerpiece vases. The cost of shipping glass vases out of state or across the country might not be worth it. So if you were able to group the classifieds by region, it would be great. Plus, it might make my centerpiece vases sell faster because people in my area might be more willing to drive an hour to pick up the vases instead of paying a lot of money to get them shipped safely to them.
I have to admit that if I wanted to sell something I would sell them on craigslist because the classifieds are a big jumble of for sale items. Yes, it's great if I'm looking for a veil or a specific dress but something as fragile as vases, it wouldn't be worth it.
Then again, I'm famiiar with craigslist and I like how I can actually go to see the item before buying them... which is why I wouldn't buy anything off the classifieds because I don't know if they are accurate in their description. This is nothing against weddingbee it just a problem with all classifieds. But then again, if you made classifieds specify the location, I would feel more comfortable buying the item.
Plus, cragislist can have a lot of scammers and knowing how helpful and nice the bees are on here. I would feel more confident that I am buying something from a fellow bride who is looking to earn some cash.
The lack of geographic specificity is also why I pretty much avoid the Classifieds section entirely. I think this is a fantastic idea.

I completely agree. I would be inclined to buy more things from bees if I could pick it up in my area. It would definitely help with selling and buying.
I agree!! It makes it so frustrating to find something you like only to find out that with shipping costs, you end up payng more!!
That classifieds suck on this website. It should be more like Craigslist where it's sorted by state or city. Why can't it be sorted like the Local boards.

Following up wit the template for a classified ad, it would be helpful if the location was mandatory. For example a free photographer or a discount on a makeup person in Texas does me (who lives in NJ) no good. Some posters put this into their offer but many do not. I cna't afford to fly in anyone from the west coast so even if they'll travel I'm not interested.
