Hello,

There is a thread on over 35 brides and some of us think an over 30 board would be a good idea. We have some unique issues and often feel left out of the wedding planning community.

Is there a way we could create a board for older brides, without putting a number/age in the board title?

We do need a good name. Let me think about it.

Mature Bride??? I don't think I like the sound of that. I'll keep thinking.

How about Queen Bees or Beeutifully Ripened!  :)

What about "Grown Up Brides"?  Or just "Older Brides" - as much as I hate the word older, we are older than a lot of women getting married.

As the one who started the thread, gotta give my two cents!!!

I like Queen Bees too.  I always joke with my FI that I'm not a princess, I'm a QUEEN

I'm 32 and will be 33 when I get married-I feel 22 and would not want to join an OLD BRIDES board. I don't understand why one is needed...

Maybe it would help to understand what types of things would be discussed on a "Mature Brides" board?

I like this idea. I"m more of a queen bee or a seasoned bride :) :)

Hi I am in favor of this as well. My daughter in law to be is over 30 and Brides over 30 have different views than some of the 20 something brides. How about that name "30 Something Brides" or "Brides over 30." Just a suggestion.
Thanks

There's a thread out there now on Over-the-Hill  Brides. Not the greatest name, but it does give you the idea that there is a need. Someone suggested the encore board, but not all older brides are encores.

I'm still at a loss for a good name though.

I will try to think of a name as well. I am 41 and would like to see a board started.

I would like to see one as well.

I was 26 the first time I got married and right out of grad school.  I'm 34 now and this time around there are different concerns, beyond simply those associated with my encore status.  Some quick examples:

- Our friends are now all in very different life stages (many have 2 or 3 kids) - that is a factor that I didn't have to think about the first time I got married.

- The issue of pre-nups is more relevant given we are each further along in our careers.

- Family planning is much more immediately on the horizon post-wedding for us.

I think WeddingBee is a great resource but I do find it hard to relate to a lot of threads given the overall demographic of the site is skewed to a much younger audience.

I could definitely see the need for this type of a board.

The names that make the most sense to me are "30+ Brides" or maybe "Seasoned Brides" though perhaps the latter implies "Encore" bride....thoughts?  Other ideas?

Maybe 30+ would work. It's short. I think seasoned is to close to encore and I don't care for the term mature.

I would totally participate in that! I like 30+. Planning a wedding outside of the "target age range" is so different; sfcarrie said it very well.

I am a first time bride and will be 40yo on my wedding day.  A board just for first time older brides would be great!!!

I am 33 and would love to have a 30 something board :)  It is hard to relate to all of the 22 yr old brides out there... We have totally different perspectives!  Queen Bee is a cute name...

We'll go with 30+ brides.  We've had lots of votes for this so I'll go ahead and request it from our tech team!

Can we get a button for it, so people can actually find it? Thanks.
