I'd love to create a wedding bio here on weddingbee, perhaps at

bio.weddingbee.com/penguin

Where I can share my wedding projects and wedding pictures.  I know all the bees have their wikis, but I'd love to be able to see readers bios and weddings in progress all in one place hosted on weddingbee.

In all of my newbee-ness, I don't know how to vote for things.  But if I did I would vote for this one!

This is my favorite idea of them all!

This sounds cool!

What would a bio look like... would it be free form HTML?  Or something more structured, where you could post more about your wedding.

Any specific sites or guidance would be awesome!

I think structure and some sort of template for people to fill out may be easier.  Free from HTML can be overwhelming.  But if you had an area called venue for example, there could be a place to upload pictures and submit descriptions.  This would also be a great feature when local brides search for someone who has used the same vendors etc.

I would make a bio if Weddingbee hosted them!  It would be great, since on the Pics board you have to link through to people's sites or just see the few images they uploaded.

Oh, I love this idea (although, being quasi computer illiterate, I'd have to say I prefer the template idea rather than true HTML free form, unless of course users could choose from the two options).

Maybe if it was like the retro AOL profiles?  Something very structured, so that you could easily navigate for any user.  I like the idea where you could upload pics and things!  Maybe format it like the "Real Weddings" template?

Yes, please!  I'd love to see wedding recaps and all those DIY projects in action!

I agree - perhaps a combination of rich HTML with a limited HTML option for those who can do it (kind of like this response post, I guess), and some guided questions and options.  It would be great to browse through everyone's plans and ideas over here :)

I have to agree... This would be totally cool!

Sounds cool!  Just to make sure I'm understanding correctly, it would kind of be like the knottie bios?  I think this would be VERY popular with all the current members and it would entice new members as well!

I think this idea is awesome!!  And that it could/should be done through the Wiki!  This would encourage people to use the wiki more as well.  The wiki's are fairly easy to manipulate ... and we can have a Members wiki -- that will link to everyone!  and then everyone can also link to it in their profiles from the message boards! I might go try to start one for myself right now! :)

I think this is a great idea as well.  It's so hard to find knottie bios...  I think the quality here would be extremely high!

Here I started a realllllly simple one on the wiki .... http://wiki.weddingbee.com/HumarockBride .... wiki's are kind of a pain to use in regards to formatting!  I'm going to try to use Mrs Eggplants to base mine off of when I keep going with it.   Also if you didnt know already the wiki is case sensitive so humarockbride doesnt work -- it has to be HumarockBride.

I really really love how the "bios" look on what junebug loves (their "real weddings" - http://junebugweddings.com/real-weddings/default.aspx) and style me pretty.  Look!  Miss Hydrangea has a bio at junebug! :) http://junebugweddings.com/real-weddings/StephanieUlises.aspx

I like how this format is concise, so the bee who stumbles on another bee's shindig can get to the good stuff tout de suite (instant gratification, what?).

I also like how this format (and here I'm talking about junebug) does a fantastic job of highlighting the parts of a wedding that could be inspirational to others "engaged" in planning!  First you get a bunch of awesome highlight pictures from the soirée, then a fact-sheet style list of the vendors, style deets, and finally - COLOR PALETTE.  It's so helpful to see what another bride started with (the palette) and finished with (the bodacious boda).

I admit there can be merit to the format on the pages of the knot bios, but I've never understood how to find bios!  NEVER!  Is there a way?  It would be very VERY helpful on weddingbee to be able to find other bee bios that could potentially be similar to yours (clicky on similar colors for the color palette?  similar dress/venue/state/religion/etc?)  This could be simplified in implementation by selecting from options in a box (a la which dress are look looking for at oncewed.com).

I think this could be revolutionary for weddingbee! :)

this is a great idea. if the bio section has a structured template, would you be able to implement an optional feature that also ports the pictures to the appropriate wedding bee photo gallery?  "if you would like to add these pictures to the gallery, check here".

so pictures in the venue section of the bio ---> are tagged in the gallery under venue

pictures appearing under the makeup section ---> are tagged as makeup in the gallery

etc etc.

This would be awesome!  I would love to have a bio, but Weddingbee is the only wedding related website that I visit with any regularity.
