Right now you can only have one username per email address.  it'd be nice to be able to change your username.

Would it work if we just relaxed the "one username per email" restriction?

Maybe two usernames per email address?  Since someone might want one name as a Miss and another once they're married?

I'm not sure if this relates, but when a reader/member becomes a bee, I believe their comment counts start from scratch again (at least, mine did).  Maybe there's a way to add the first username's comment count to the second username comment count?  I guess this would only work if you abandon your original username.... like I haven't commented as MissBlushing since I became Cupcake. Now I'm just rambling :-)

I like cupcake's idea. I'm sort of thinking this wasn't the prettiest username, but I don't want to change it, even if it's registered to the same email address, if it means I lose my post count. No more 'newbee' for me!! :)

I think it would be good to be able to change your username - maybe there could even be a section in your profile of your past username.  I picked my username when I did not know much about weddingbee and would have picked a different name knowing what i know now!

I would like to be able to change too!

I think it would be good to have the option to change once you are a Mrs. etc.  However, I'd worry that people would change all the time and it would be hard to recognize people.  I love being able to see comments or check board posts and know who is who.

I'm in! Hopefully I won't always be "waiting". :)

I like the idea of changing your username, but not the idea of being able to do it all the time.  We might start not being able to recognize users like we normally do.  Also, changing names from Miss to Mrs. once you get married is cool for the bees, but I'm not a huge fan when regular users do that because it can get a little confusing.

I like Cupcakes idea of tranferring over the comment counts... should we start a new "idea" for that one.
I know Miss Bruschette had a TON of comments before she was a Bee and then her count started all over. Kinda a bummer.

Actually AliCherri1, Miss B did end up getting her post counts carried over once she was a bee.  Same thing for Miss Mary Jane.

They do change over now, and all your posts are listed under your new bee name too. :)

I agree with erindesmar -- I would have picked a different name if I knew more about weddingbee when I signed up ... I would have picked a "miss" name or maybe just something different ... but it was too late and now it's stuck :)

I agree with the idea of getting to change maybe once. When I signed up I chose Mrs. & would've picked Miss. for now and switched after married. (I was too excited to join in the chatting to realize those Mrs. I saw were already married. I just loved the having cute little names!)

Can I add an idea to this one? It's sort of the same, but it might be nice to be able to comment or post anonymously without having to create a whole new account. Perhaps if someone wants to post a question about a private situation they need help with, but don't want possible lurkers to know all their business. I've previously wanted to comment on things or offer advice, but have held back because I don't know who knows I'm on here using this handle.

@VegasBaby - Please create a new thread with your idea, if you don't mind - thanks!

I had requested to change my username too but was told that I couldn't.  I vote for being able to change it at least once.

Is this implemented already?
Because I noticed that 'DoctorGirl', for example, is now Mrs DG. And I've been wanting to change my username too

It's not implemented...  it's a lot of manual work to change a username.  We changed that one manually to limit legal lability, since the earlier name had the word Doctor in it...

I also vote for being able to change your name. I would have definitely picked a different name if I knew more about the site. At least being able to change it once would help!!

Oh man, me too! I didn't even realize what site I was on, I just made a name real quick to ask a question about a veil! LOL I didn't realize this is where I'd end up spending the majority of my days! hehe

While I feel for those who created their names hastily, I don't like the idea of not knowing who's who, or of vendor spam accounts being able to easily change their names.

Yeah I wish I knew then what I know now - I was totally counting on creating a cuter user name than my nickname, only to realize that I couldn't. :(

I'd love to change my username since I didn't really think about it when I created it.  It would be nice if it could be the same one I blog by :)
